RISK:RECLAIM:ENTERTAIN – the blog

July 18, 2009

RISK:RECLAIM:ENTERTAIN is an initiative group between members IDAPERFORMS, Marie Topp, Gry Raaby, Marie-Louise Stentebjerg and Jara Høgsberg, whose aim it is to create and bring attention to the importance and lack of open platforms for performativity in Copenhagen. This we do through our annual RISK-platforms, creating spaces, where artists working with performativity can meet cross different artistic fields and their related some what isolated environments. We intentionally choose to place our events in unaccustomed surroundings to show, that good stage-art experiences can also occur outside of the established venues. In this way we wish to convey performativity to an audience, who are not necessarily regulars in the world of stage- or performative arts.

This blog is an extension of the RISK-project. An attempt to create a place where arts and artistic events as well as workshops and lectures in the same field, are debated open mindedly. It is important for us to contribute to the lack of qualified forums where the danish art scene, underground as well as the established, meets and greets, where critical aspects are shared and where common approaches are deconstructed. This blog has no intention of being any sort of arbiter of taste, on the contrary it is, as an independent media tool, meant to facilitate a written meeting between artists, audience and theorists. Ultimately, we hope that this blog will help create awareness of the dynamic richness, critical importance and potential of a yet to be gathered danish art scene.

Welcome!
